Blogging While Black: IT'S YOUR BLOG, YOU CAN BE DIFFERENT YOU KNOW!

When I first started blogging I was into the celeb gossip thing, then I realized that these celebs don't gives a rats behind about us. These same celebs that we plaster all over all blogs will not even give you a follow unless you are praising them or their work. I also realized that there were like a million other blogs talking about the same thing, thats when I started to discuss things that mattered to me and my people. I aint gonna lie, it's hard to develop a huge following when you are not talking about who's screwing who, but your blog post will inspire and help someone. Sometimes you may feel like its a waste of time, but hang in there, your blog will grow and be appreciated. There are so many things that we can talk about, and the good part about it is that everything does not have to be so serious. It can be something random that happened to you during the course of your day. More than likely it happened to someone else that will read your blog. It's just not good for grown folks to sit around and talk about who did what and does not like you know who. Don't get me wrong, I love a good episode of Love and Hip Hop and Real Housewives, but we do not have to stay on those topics. Lets be a little more creative in the future, or at least try! Always remember that your blog belongs to you and you can talk about whatever you choose. If you want to talk about how your day has been, write about it. If you went on a bad date, write about it. If you just want to ramble on about something that happened to you 20 years ago, do it. Just be different from the last blog created if you can help it.
