Understanding Africa!

By Bockman

Many people misunderstand Africa and Africans, I remember growing up seeing my African classmates abused and made fun of. Sadly it was African descendants most notably those from the Caribbean whom headed the insults. Africans culture for the most part has been demonised, when people hear the word Africa they are likely to think of poverty, corruption and backwardness.
Some people even mistake Africa for a country but this is innately wrong. Africa is the second largest continent after Asia and also the second most populous. Africa is one of the most if not the most diverse continent; Africa is home to roughly 53 countries and 3000 languages. Most of the Africans whom suffered during the transatlantic slave trade were from the western part of the continent.
Many African descendants can trace their bloodlines back to places like Ghana, mail, Nigeria, Ivory cost alongside other West African states. As stated earlier Africa is indeed a diverse land the media don’t show its true beauty, this destroys black hearts and minds as they constantly see their people in poor conditions. Africans and their descendants feel ashamed and actively aim to disassociate themselves with the land.
Africans including their descendants will only truly arise when they begin to love themselves and refuse to eat the lies the media feeds them. Black children need to be taught their history pre slavery, even adults need to be re-educated and taught there history in detail not just that they were slaves. Only when we have knowledge of self will we truly appreciate each other and begin to rebuild and reinvest in Africa.
The following are just some of the beautiful tribes you will find in Africa
 Ashanti (Western Africa Ghana)
 Afar ( Eastern Africa Ethiopia)
 Amhara ( East Africa Ethiopia)
 Berber (North Africa. Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia)
 Maasai ( Eastern African, Kenya)
 Yoruba ( Western Africa, Nigeria)
