I have been noticing a growing trend amongst many black sisters as of late. A movement towards natural hair seems to be on the on the rise with sisters all over the world now making videos and posting them on YouTube. The videos often show sisters transitioning from relaxed to natural hair alongside hair care tips; it is a truly uplifting sight to see our beautiful sisters accepting themselves. I have always said that black women are amongst the most beautiful in the world and I stick to my statement.
The natural hair movement is not only good for the health of black women but also the black community, as the movement has the power to bring about a feeling of self-worth. When Black women wear their hair naturally it signifies that they have pride in their African heritage it is a powerful statement which stands out. Black hair has been the issue of much debate often regarded as unattractive and unmanageable. Sisters whom wear their hair naturally actively send out a positive message to other black sisters destroying the myth that black hair is non manageable and unattractive.
