How would you feel if you walked into a store to spend your hard earned money, and some white lady gave off a code to let everybody know that a black person walked in? Well thats whats going on according to Veronica Robledo and Karin Widmann.
They are suing Laurice Rahme for 3 million, accusing her of violating their civil rights and firing them for speaking up about her racist policies. The two women worked in her store, and she had this code that she gave out when one of us walked in the store. She would say "we need the light bulbs changed" to let you know that a black person was in there presence.
"I was very offended," Robledo told the New York Daily News. She also stated that "the last eight months were torture, and that she was "afraid to speak to a black customer."
Rahme said that she is not racist, and that she use to have a black boyfriend. Yeah, I guess that really helps. What do you guys think about this one?
