TIL DEATH DO US PART: MARRIAGE IS NOT FOR THE WEAK!

For some reason marriage has become something so hard for Black folks to commit to, and when they commit to it, it often ends up in divorce. Some people get married with the mindset that "if it does not work, Ill just Divorce". WRONG WRONG WRONG, and its just all out foolish to think that way. When you say that you love some one, I mean really really love someone enough to say those vows and marry them, then that's it. When you commit to GOD, there is no breaking that commitment. Now, if you are getting hit upside the head, and someone is just totally dogging you to the point that its dangerous, by all means get out of that situation, but if you guys are disagreeing, arguing, and/or going through some challenges, that should be worked out.

When you take divorce out of the equation, that means that I CANNOT LEAVE, and you both will have to work things out. I mean come one, if two people really love each other, how is it that they cannot work it out.There is one key ingredient that should be in you marriage, and that's GOD. Often times we try our best to make the other person happy, which you cannot take on that responsibility because you will come up short. You cannot make someone happy all of the time, that just will not happen. Now, if you love your wife or husband the way that GOD speaks, you will see a big difference. I am always hearing people say that they are not happy, well do not blame that on the other person, you better find out a way to be happy. People will do things to hurt you, there is no doubt about that, but if you love them like you said when you made that commitment, you will see it through.

Til death do us part! What does that mean to most people when it comes to marriage? Ill tell you what it means to me! It means that when you are pissed and/or heartbroken by your mate, you still should take care of them and do what your are suppose to do for them. I will voice my opinion and try to make things right, and she should be willing to do the same thing. Stop putting so much faith into people, because we are only human and make stupid mistakes. Be willing to forgive them and see what you both can do to make things better, but no matter what, no DIVORCE. Often times you swear you mate is so wrong and maybe they are, but have you ever been wrong? Marriage is a lifetime commitment, not a fly by night, I can't have my way, you have pissed me off so I'm gone type of deal. You made a vow each other, and most importantly GOD. If you don't believe me, go ahead and leaver your mate and see what else is our there. I'm not saying that there are not other good people in the world, but what happens when you commit to them and they do not make you happy? Are you going to bail out yet again? Before you tie that knot, make sure that you are built for that, and can really commit to that person until the death of one of you

PAULA SAID THE N WORD, ARE YOU REALLY SURPRISED?

The media has been in an uproar with all of the Paula Deen Talk about how she talked to some of her employee's, and used the N word in the past. Well I don't know about all of the specifics, and I really do not care about what she said, but what I do care about is why is it such a shock to some of us? Call me crazy, but you see, I expect such behavior because I do not think people have changed all that much since slavery. I think Black Folks will always be looked down upon by whites, and that's that. I mean dam, look at how many of us are in jail, look at how many of us hold top positions, look at how many of us are unemployed. Now compare us to them in each category and tell me what you get. Racism and discrimination is alive and very well folks.

Now, what are we going to do about it? You see, this type of behavior just motivates me to make it, stop working for other folks, and work for ourselves. We are still looking for acceptance from good old Mr. Charlie, we want him to really like us. I say forget Mr. Charlie, and let's create our own destiny. Let's get together and start our own restaurants, hell we are the best cooks on earth. My beloved Aunt that past away 4 years ago would have cooked circles around Paula Deen, and I tried to get her to actually open up one when I was just a child. She just laughed when I would tell her " Mama ( I called her Mama) you should start your own restaurant", but I was dead serious.

Black people stop punching other peoples clocks, push aside your problems with your brother and/or sister and let's do this. We should not have to go to work and worry about what some white man thinks of us, or worry about some stupid ass black joke that's about to come out of their mouths. When they go home and close there doors, we are niggers to most of them (in my opinion), so it does not even offend me when I hear such things, I just know that's how they feel about us, and this has been proven in history. When you get a little change in your pocket, go buy from a black owned business and put the money in a brother or sisters pocket. I'm still punching their clocks myself, but I am working so hard to get off of it, and it is coming very soon. Don't worry about all of the Nigger Talk, just don't participate in it or answer to it! Are Black Folks 2 Sensitive?

Now anybody that really knows me knows that I will crack (make fun of) on just about anyone. You can be Black, White, Asian, and/or whatever you are. I also have friends that will make jokes about anyone and anything. Now I do not know where all of you are from, but Im pretty sure you and your friends have made jokes about white folks and some of the other people in the world, right? Our comedians talk about how white people act, how the white girls are always falling in the movies, how Mexican people talk, and... well you know the point I'm trying to make.

Well I just have a quick question, why is it that when a white man brings up chicken and watermelon we loose our minds. I mean I am one of those people that will stand there with you when its time to go to war, often times I am the leader of the pack, but sometimes I think we need to come down. I think that we need to relax on some things, especially when we are the ones that can dish it out. There are some things that every culture is known for, for example, Mexicans love Taco's, not all of them, but its apart of their culture right? Jamacians eat curry chicken and goat, and ox tails right? Well, I don't know about yall group of Black Folks, but as for this Black Man here, I love Chicken and Watermelon, and I will not get offended if some white man threw that out at me. I would probably ask dude if he had some chicken with him, not be offended. No we are not the only ones that eat this way, just like not only Mexicans eat taco's, but some people are just known for certain things.

I said all of this to say that we should embrace our culture, and stop getting offended whenever someone says a certain thing. Hell yeah there is a lot of racism going on, and it will always be that way, especially towards us black folks. I just think that we need to relax a bit and be realistic. How many of you have went home and said "them white folks got on my nerves today" after work? I bet you have said it more than once and did not think twice. Well what if you could be a fly on the wall in a white mans house and heard him say... Those black guys think that they are so tough, or something like that? Most of us would be ready to march on Washington, but WHY?

Throw Back Post:Back 2 Black - Oprah

 Now I am going to get str8 to my point! This is my first post in a while and I don't want to create a wordy post. So here it is...Is it me, or is Oprah Winfrey reaaaally loving black folks right now. When she had her T.V. show on dem white folks channel, it seems as if her shows were geared towards them. Every now and then we were shown some love, but the complaint was that she did not have enough blacks on the show, and it was not catered to us enough. She made Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, and another dude popular but left us in the wind.Now when she kicked her own Network off, it seemed to still be geared towards good ole white folk, but the ratings were not as expected, and it seems as if she had to come back home to the good ole black folks. I love O and everything, but I think that we should have been at the forefront a long time ago. Why is it that when white people create there shows, it does not matter if blacks watch it or not. They do not have us in mind when it comes to their shows, but when we do our shows, we have to worry about them liking it or not. Another thing that I do not like about us viewer's, many people were afraid to call out the O about it. It was like she got a pass for not putting us up front. Now I see that all of her shows on OWN are For us By Us. It's like she is saying that "the white folks aint with me anymore, let me head on back down there with the black folks". She has interviewed black after black in the last few months. While I am not mad at her, but why now? Why wait to the ratings drop and then decide to cater to us. Now, it makes me ask the question, would she cater to us if she still had her white audience? Let me know what you think!

Black Folks and Clubbin: WHEN DOES IT GET OLD?

It was the summer of 1998, the summer that I turned 18 years old. I was done with high school, had a full time job, and you could not tell me nothing. I was a shy guy, was pretty good with the girls, but just quiet. My best boy "Kool-Aid" had talked me into going to this club a few miles away from my town of Macon, Ga, called Suger Hill. I was a bit of a square, I never did the party thing in high school, so I did not know what to expect. Boi Boi Boi, when I walked in, my life changed forever! I had never seen so many women shaking their butts, wiggling, jiggling, bouncing, dropping it like it was hot, shaking, stripping, dipping, twerking and jerking. This girl pulled me on the dance floor and I couldn't dance for shiznit, but I gave it my best shot. That girl turned her back to me and gave me the best cheap thrill of my life at the time!

I thought to myself, "I am Home". I am ashamed to say this people, but I am going to do it anyway. I partied every single weekend after that night that I could. Me and my boi would get off from work and head str8 to the club no matter how late we got off. We were club addicts, and proud of it. I use to get paid every two weeks and I would spend most of my checks on clothes and going to the club in one weekend. I did this bullshiznit from 18 to 20. The only reason I stopped at 20 is because I found me a little chick to settle down with. Now after that was over, I headed right back to the club and started all over again. I basically lived for the weekend until I was like 24. Now I cannot, and will not dog anybody for partying because GOD knows I did my share. I know why people go, especially us men, so I cannot be to judgmental. After working hard and going to the club blowing my money, and also meeting women that I gave the majority of my time to, it started to get very old, very fast.

I started to see the same people at every club I went to, and after dodging bullets and fights I decided to throw in the towel. When I met my wife in 06, it was really over with. I think that it is natural to transition from partying all the time, to becoming more settled. Fast Forward to 2013, I am 32 years old, married with kids, and more mature. I like to travel, spend time with family, and would not mind taking my wife to a smooth jazz club where things are not as crazy. Some of the same people that I partied with can be found at the same places that we partied at, the clubs just have different names now. Some of them have a football team worth of kids, and they are still partying their asses off. I get on facebook, and they are throwing parties all over Macon, or having something at the strip club. I turn on the radio, and the singers that I grew up listening to are still talking about the club, and these folks are older than me. Now, I know why the youngsta's are going, and its a good experience for them, but why are us full grown folks still stuck in the clubs every weekend?

We are living in a world where people are taking pictures of you and posting them on facebook and twitter. You have kids that are on these social networks, and this is what they are seeing. Look Below!

                      

What I am trying to say is, when do we get rid of the young mentality? I am not an old man, but I do not want to be doing some of the things that my kids are about to experiment with. I do not want run into my kids at the club "getting turnt up" whatever the hell that means. I do not have swag, nor do I want it, whatever the hell that means. I use to let my pants sag a little, but at 32 going on 33, helllllll haaaaaw. I still love hip hop, I grew up on it, and I produce hip hop music, but you will not catch me riding around in my car blasting 2 Chaiiiiins, sorry Mr. Chains, my kids love ya, but me not so much. Long story short guys, I want to have a good time, the club is cool sometimes, but that stuff gets old just like we do. So to my people over 30, whats the fascination with the club?

DEM INCOME TAX CHECKS ARE GONE!

Its April the fourth, most of us black folks, at least the ones that I know, received their tax refunds two months ago, and most of those checks are gone. Many of us received what I would like to call a nice chunk of change, and most of the people I know have bought cars, furniture, and other fancy things. We are in worse shape than we were before. Not only did we not save any money, more than likely we spent it with some white folks and walked right past our own businesses. Guess what? Those cars are going back. Those clothes that you bought will become old to you and you won't even where them long. Now we are back to waiting on yet another income tax check. Here are some alternatives that we could have done... Invested in a small business, bought some used cars and flipped them into a profit, invested in a trust account, paid up rent for a few months, fixed your old car, etc etc. No, you bought them rims, that Lexus, went on that cruise, got your hair, nails, toes, feet, face, eyelashes and all of that done. Guess what, YOU ARE BROKE! WHHHHHHY?

Are Blacks Cursed?

It seems as if where ever the black man goes war and corruption follows, Could the black man actually be cursed? Let’s look at Africa for example the continent up to this day remains the poorest in the world. Africa has made some significant improvements in recent years but compared to India and china its accomplishments are less impressive.
African Americans are also marginalised and stereotyped; despite their successes in entertainment they still remain relatively deprived. Sports and music are often portrayed as the only avenues to success; this has had serious affects on the youth. Cycles of poverty are then created as youths grow up expecting to never amount to much.
There are so many unanswered questions when it comes to the current state of black people. Yes we all know slavery played a critical role in the destruction of blacks, but in 2011 you have to actually ask yourself why Africa is still the poorest continent in the world. Why are blacks associated with criminality and poverty? Why do we hate ourselves? Why do we ridicule each other? Why are we like this? These are the questions we should all aim to find the answers to.
When president Obama, came into power many thought that the start of a revolution had began, sadly this was short lived as most things remain unchanged. During the election period it was evident that Blacks were viewed as less intelligent by the media and themselves. The media made such a big deal over Obama’s race, even black people feel into the media trap of highlighting his colour.
Due to the years of punishment and slavery blacks underwent in the Americas a little bit of excitement was understandable as a man of African descent was running for head of office. However some of the frenzy showed that blacks thought of themselves as inferior to whites, with statements like I can’t believe a black man is running for president, black comedians also used derogatory jokes further belittling their own their own race.
Blacks should have not been suppressed or doubtful of Obama running for presidency. There lack of belief Cleary demonstrated their unbelief in themselves. Are blacks actually cursed? Well I am not the creator so I cannot answer that question, but if you look at Africa and the diaspora you will clearly see a pattern and that pattern defiantly needs to be assessed and changed.
